Measuring compressor current with a clamp meter

Planned maintenance

Home/Planned maintenance

Periodic inspections, F-gas leak checks and condition reports for chillers, AHUs, rooftops and condensing units, so faults are found before they stop production.

F-gas company certificate. A report with measurements after every visit. Mobile service in Poland and the EU.

Most breakdowns we repair could have been seen weeks earlier on a pressure gauge, a current meter or a thermometer. Planned maintenance is about reading these signals in time. SKiC prepares an inspection schedule for all refrigeration and HVAC equipment in your plant, keeps track of the dates and the legal obligations, and gives you one report per visit with measurements and recommendations.

What an inspection includes

AreaChecks
Refrigerant circuitPressures, temperatures, superheat, subcooling, leak check
CompressorsCurrents and phase balance, oil, insulation, start counts
Heat exchangersCondenser and evaporator condition, cleaning if needed
Water and glycol sideFlow, temperature difference, strainers, glycol concentration
Electrics and safety devicesContactors, terminals, pressure switches, settings
ControlsAlarm history, sensors, setpoints
Refrigerant pipework and pressure sensor on a chiller

F-gas leak checks

Under Regulation (EU) 2024/573 equipment with a charge of 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent or more must be checked for leaks at fixed intervals. The interval depends on the charge and on whether an automatic leak detection system is installed.

Charge in t CO2 eq.Without leak detectionWith leak detection
5 to below 5012 months24 months
50 to below 5006 months12 months
500 or more3 months6 months

We calculate the CO2 equivalent for every unit, plan the checks and keep the records up to date.

How often to inspect

Manufacturers usually recommend one or two inspections a year. Chillers running all year in continuous production benefit from an inspection every six months: one before the summer, one before the winter. Units with a light load can be inspected once a year, combined with the leak check.

What you get

  • A schedule for all units with dates and scope.
  • A report after every visit with measured values and photos.
  • A list of recommendations with priorities: urgent, plan within months, observe.
  • A history of measurements that shows slow changes before they become failures.
  • One contact for chillers, rooftop units, AHUs and condensing units.

Service agreement

With a service agreement the dates are fixed in advance, requests are handled with priority and the same technicians come to your plant, so they already know your equipment. The documentation required for leak checks is kept complete.

Questions from maintenance teams

Do you inspect units from different manufacturers in one visit?
Yes. One visit and one report cover all units in the plant, regardless of the brand.
Is an inspection the same as a leak check?
No. A leak check is a legal minimum. An inspection covers the whole unit and includes the leak check.
Can you take over equipment serviced by another company?
Yes. We start with a zero inspection that records the condition of each unit.
What does a maintenance visit cost?
Planned maintenance is quoted per site, based on the number and size of units and the visit frequency. Work on site is billed at 115 EUR net per hour plus travel at 0.75 EUR net per km; combining several units in one visit keeps travel costs low.
Do you keep the F-gas records for us?
Yes. After each visit you receive the leak check results and refrigerant movements for your equipment records. The operator remains responsible for keeping them, but we prepare the entries.

Want a maintenance plan?

Send us a list of your equipment with brand, model and refrigerant. We will prepare a schedule and a quote.
