Air handling units and rooftop units keep halls ventilated, heated and cooled. They work quietly in the background until a cold morning, when a frozen heating coil floods the plant room, or a hot afternoon, when the rooftop unit only blows warm air. SKiC services both types of equipment after the manufacturer’s warranty, with the same approach as for chillers: measurements, cause, repair, report.

Rooftop units
A rooftop unit is a compact system with a refrigerant circuit, fans, dampers, filters and usually a gas burner or a heat pump for heating. We inspect and repair rooftop units from Lennox, York, Trane, Carrier and other brands, from small units for shops to large units with two refrigerant circuits for retail parks.
- Refrigerant circuit: pressures, leak check, compressors, coils.
- Fans and motors, belts, bearings.
- Dampers and actuators, economiser operation.
- Heating section: burner or heat pump mode, safety devices.
- Controller: alarm history, sensors, schedules and setpoints.
Frost damage: the most expensive winter failure
A burst water heating coil usually floods the AHU and sometimes the inverter and motors as well. We repair coils where it is technically sensible and check the whole frost protection chain afterwards: frost thermostat, valve position on alarm, pump logic and sensors. Without that check the coil often bursts again the next winter.
Planned inspections
For buildings with many units we prepare an inspection plan: dates, scope per unit and one report covering all of them. Filters, belts and coils are checked before the season, so problems are found while the unit can still be switched off without consequences.

Questions from maintenance teams
Do you service units still under warranty?
No. During the warranty period the manufacturer or installer is responsible. We take over afterwards.
Can a frost-damaged coil be repaired?
Often yes. Coils that cannot be repaired in the unit are removed and repaired in our workshop in Wałsnów.
Do you service split air conditioners?
No. We focus on industrial and commercial units.
